Newport Downtown Development has teamed up with The Work Commons, Green Mountain Natural Foods, and the Newport Daily Express to offer our first annual Newport, Vermont, Business Expo - Downstreet.Biz - on Friday and Saturday, September 27 and 28. It will be held both virtually and in person at the Work Commons in Downtown Newport.
The Expo is oriented toward people who like to play in the Northeast Kingdom and might consider moving to the area for remote work or to start a small business. Local businesses that provide services like insurance, realty, banking and the like will be tabling throughout the event, and there will be "hotspot" talks for fifteen minutes every half hour to help attendees think through the support systems the community offers to new businesses. There will also be an opportunity to tour some of our local businesses and to hear their stories about starting and managing a business in Downtown Newport.
