Travis Casey was a joy to work with.  He came to my house in Craftsbury, Vermont to talk about listing it with Century 21.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to list it with a realtor but was getting anxioux to sell since I wanted to move to Colorado.  I gave Travis a tour of the house and out buildings, then we sat at my kitchen table for about a half hour talking about the house.  I told him what I wanted to get out of it.  He didn't pressure me in any way to change my asking price or to make any improvements to the house.  We listed it at my price and within 9 days he had a person come look at it.  In no time at all I had an offer.  I accepted it and the closing was two months later!  It was truly the best experience I have had in selling a house!

We have had our house on Island Pond for sale for more than 3 years. In that time, we have had at least 4 different agencies trying to sell our home. Annette Dalley, has shown it more times and has generated more activity with our property in the last year thal all the other agencies combined have done in the last 3 years. I am writing on behalf of myself and my sister, Patt London, with reagards to the extraordinary service provided to us by your agent, Barry Sykes, in the selling our Mother's property, 154 Kimberly Lane in Newport,VT. Last August when our mother, Betty Waters, was unexpectedly hospitalized, we thought our biggest concern was to keep the bills paid. When the news that our mother would never return to her home of 40 years, we knew we had to make every effort to find a safe place for her to reside. With my sister in Vermont & myself in Manhattan, this became a logistical nightmare of seemingly unending paperwork. After the first dust settled with our mom in a nursing facility and my sister designated POA, we took a deep breath and looked at our Mother's house & property and realized they needed to be sold. We were clueless. I returned to NYC and went online to search for a Realtor. I had some contacts from when I lived in Newport. I pulled up the Century 21 website and a light went off in my head. I can't tell you why. I called my sister and said to her, "try them." During my next trip to Newport we had arranged to meet with Barry at the property. He walked us through the process and answered our initial questions. He was punctual, informative and supportive. As soon as he left I turned to my sister and we both mouthed the same thought: "He's so YOUNG!" What struck us initially as a concern soon realized itself as an incredible blessing and advantage. He answered every question we had, he interceded on our behalf with Economic Services, he negotiated with neighbors on an unexpected water right issue, he found an attorney for us and even made sure that 154 Kimberly Lane's roof was shoveled after the last big snow storm. Barry took every unexpected turn in the road in stride. He was never anything but confident, kept in touch with us continuously and treated Patt and me with the utmost courtesy, respect, sincerity & a lovely sense of humor. My wife, our 4 children and I are all avid skiers. Our resort is Jay Peak. We have looked around the mountain for some time to find land big enough to build a four season cabin on. To allow for nordic skiing and snowshoeing and which would be in close proximity to the resort. It is with the valuable assistance of Micheline Cote and Century 21 Farm & Forest that we found a property. We bought 74.8 acres of pristine forest with charming year round cascading creek, pools large enough to take a dip in, a nice hill and superb views on the mountain! With only 4.9 miles to Jay Peak, so we can even x-country ski to the resort. With just enough road frontage as well to connect to the power grid and allow for year round access.
Throughout the 3-4 years that both Jennifer & I looked for our first home, we worked with many different Realtors. We finally had found a home that we felt was the one. The home was for sale by owner and was priced very resonably. Needless to say, we both agreed we could do it ourselves and bypass the Buyer/Broker to help with the paperwork. The deal as you can imagine, fell apart, as we were not educated in the finer points of home buying. This fall we finally found a home we agreed was the absolute one and moved quickly on it, hiring Micheline Cote to represent us. Micheline was more than happy to answer any and all questions that we had and helped negotiate the best possible price for the home. The process was very smooth and we were able to relax as we felt that things were in good hands.
