Brief History: Founded in 1782
General Area Info: Includes the village of Beecher Falls, located at the confluence of the Connecticut River and Halls Stream. Canaan is the most northern and most eastern township in Vermont and is bordered by New Hampshire to the east and Quebec to the north.
