In December, the St. Johnsbury Select Board granted $100,000 in funding to R.I.N.K., Inc. (Rescue Ice Hockey in the Northeast Kingdom). The money comes from ARPA funding by the federal government. The funds will be used for an architectural and mechanical engineering study, including an engineering plan, for the Northeast Kingdom Regional Recreation Complex project. The facility will be located on Bay Street in St. Johnsbury and will include two full NHL-size rinks, ice maintenance spaces, and spectator areas, a 200-meter indoor track, areas for fitness, wrestling, and gymnastics, as well as office space, and a pro shop.
