For most of us, this month has us remembering the past, feeling grateful for the people who are present in our lives, and considering steps we can take or changes we can make to create the future we desire. Hopefully without the drama of being dragged out of bed by ghosts, as was the case with Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ novella, A Christmas Carol. This classic has been adapted countless times over the years, including the first American adaptation, a silent film in 1908. Since then, it’s had many incarnations, from The Muppet Christmas Carol to Scrooged, starring Bill Murray, and most recently, Spirited, a musical version released this year on Apple TV+ with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell in lead roles.
