Echo lake, Charleston, VT, is a 550 acre body of water nestled in the hills of the Northeast Kingdom. The body is fairly round in shape, which makes it great for boating. The area lakes are generally very quiet in comparison to the lakes of Southern VT and NH but Echo tends to be even more so partly because it is between Seymour Lake and Lake Willoughby both of which are larger and draw more tourists. Fish Species include Brook, Rainbow, Brown, Lake Trout & Salmon. Scenery is great at Echo Lake with views of Elan Hill to the North and Bald Mountain to the South. If you enjoying walking, running and biking, it is a great 5 mile loop around the lake on gravel country roads. Jay Peak is about 40 minutes away and Burke Mountain is a bit closer at around 25 minutes.
