Eden, Vermont is a town in Lamoille County. Eden was originally chartered in 1781 by Governor Thomas Chittenden to 72 Green Mountain Boys who had fought in the Revolution under Colonel Seth Warner. It was hoped that these veterans would settle there in their own "Garden of Eden." However, history shows that none of the men actually made their homes there. Today, much of the land around Eden is still undeveloped with magnificent mountain peaks, ponds and rivers, and a large number of wildlife species. This makes for a outdoorsman's delight with four-season activities like hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling and dog sledding.
